The Octagon (1980) Phenakistiscopes | After Effects Project File

Being a basic film nerd my mind immediately went to the 1980 Chuck Norris film The Octagon. The film is ... really not great, but its awe / reverence of ninjas and Norris's "acting" lent themselves to some fun clips to use in an animation.

There's an octagon where they train and the climax is set, which reminded me of a zoetrope, which in turn led me down a rabbit hole of researching old phenakistiscopes.
