Essentially this is a rig where you can drop cutout footage or images into a precomp, then a few precomps of magic later out pops that same image, but it looks like it's been ripped from a magazine or newspaper.

This torn paper look works really well with collage style animation. You see them all the time, as it’s a style which seemingly never goes out of fashion.
